WHAT CAN I GET COMPENSATION
FOR?
You could be entitled to compensation for
any injuries you receive and any financial losses you have incurred,
or will incur as a result of your accident. The following examle relates
to road traffic accidents.
ROAD TRAFFIC ACCIDENT

The English Legal system recognises two main areas which you could stand
to be compensated for.
Firstly you could be entitled to general damages for any injuries which
you have suffered. Effectively, this is compensation for the pain and
suffering caused by your injuries. For example, a minor soft tissue and
whiplash injury where symptoms are moderate and a full recovery takes
place within two years could lead to an award of up to £3750. Even
a very minor neck injury where you make a full recovery within three to
four weeks could easily lead to an award of £1000.
Secondly you could be entitled to receive "Special Damages",
In essence, these are specific money losses which you have sustained as
a result of an accident. They may include the following:
- The cost of repairing your vehicle or replacing it if it is written
off. If you are comprehensively insured, your own insurers will probably
deal with the vehicle element of your claim but we can assist in recovering
your insurance "excess" and protect your no claims bonus.
- The cost of replacement transport whilst your vehicle is off the road.
- Any loss of earnings you sustained as a result of the accident.
- The cost of any property which has been damaged as a result of the
accident to include, for example, broken spectacles or damaged clothing.
- Medical and Physiotherapy fees.
